Ray Lawson

Ray Lawson has been a citizen of Marshall, Texas since September of 1950. He and the late Harrison Forbes formed a partnership in 1951 and established Mar-Tex Glass Company in March 1952. Ray Lawson is a veteran of World War II serving two and a half years in the South Pacific in the Army Medical Corp. He has been involved in several civic endeavors in Marshall. Past President and Life Member of the Optimist Club. Past President and member of the Marshall Rotary Club for the past 32 years and is also a Paul Harris Fellow. He was Campaign Manager for U.S. Congressman, Sam B. Hall. He has served on various boards, including the Marshall School Board (7 years as Chairman). He has served Region VII Education Center Board, Peoples State Bank Board, Marshall Chamber of Commerce Board, and was Chairman of that board in 2004. Ray Lawson has been active in the First United Methodist Church, which he and his wife Mona attend, and has chaired several committees of the church. Ray has been married to his precious wife Mona since 1947, and they are parents of one son David who is married to Tatiana, and resides in Irving, Texas. Ray was named the 2004 "Outstanding Citizen" for Marshall, Texas by the Greater Marshall Chamber of Commerce in March of 2005.

Mark Hartt

Mark Hartt was born in Marshall, Texas in May of 1955. He has great respect for the community's past and firmly believes in its bright future. Mark has always appreciated Marshall's small town atmosphere, and to be honest, has never considered living anywhere else. This is home! Mark graduated from Marshall High School in 1973 while being active in all sports, with a special fondness for golf. He was also involved in scouting, where he received his Eagle badge and God & Country awards. He attended Texas A&M University and received his Bachelor's Degree in Parks and Recreation, where he also served four years in the Corps of Cadets. Mark married his high school sweetheart, Carol in June of 1978, and has two sons, John Mark and Scott, who are the joys of his life. He is an active member of First United Methodist Church in Marshall and has worked on several committees. He has also worked in the community with Marshall's Downtown Development Committee, Ducks Unlimited Chairperson and Harrison County A&M Club Co-Chair for the last 25 years. Mark worked for the Texas Parks & Wildlife Department for 5 years, worked as a manager of a local building materials store for 23 years and is presently Assistant Manager of Harrison County Glass Company.
